This area used to be farmland, and had a spring running through it, hence the name of Spring Street. Today, you can find a beautiful and functional green space, updated in 2018.

Pass By: Soho Playhouse, 15 Vandam St, New York City, New York 10013

The spot where this playhouse now stands was once the home of Aaron Burr, third vice-president, and, if you know your history or have seen "Hamilton", the man who killed Alexander Hamilton. The Vandam Playhouse was built here in 1826, making it the oldest off-Broadway playhouse in the city.

This home was built from 1833 to 1834, and was added to the National Register for Historic Places in 1983.

This is the first and oldest Roman Catholic Church in the city, and served the city until the newer St. Patrick's was built across from Rockefeller Center. The church still holds mass, in English, Spanish, and Chinese.

This spectacular sculpture garden is comprised of artworks donated by a local resident.

Pass By: Old Police Headquarters, 240 Centre St, New York, NY 10012, USA

This police headquarters was constructed in the early 1900s, and is a great example of intricate architecture and design.

Pass By: Italian American Museum, 155 Mulberry St, New York City, New York 10013

This cultural institution was once a bank and once-stop-shop, and is being renovated, with plans for the additions to be opened in Fall 2022.

Pass By: Museum of Chinese in America, 215 Centre St, New York City, New York 10013

Established in 1980, the museum benefitted from a grant from Carnegie Corporation. It caught fire in 2021, and reopened in 2021.

This area was featured in the movie "Gangs of New York", and features a statue of a respected Chinese leader.
